Stephen Wendell is a passionate developer with a commitment to the authenticity and community of every project. He has an acute understanding of how every property speaks to people in different ways. Bridging the history of a location with the community’s needs for the future lies at the heart of each development. In 2023, Mountain Shore debuted Camptown in New York’s Hudson Valley and Hotel Genevieve in Louisville, Kentucky.
Prior to building out the boutique hotel and mixed-use development arms of the firm, Stephen was pivotal in forging MSP’s relationship with Hyatt. This led to the development of four Hyatt branded hotels since 2015 and MSP received the North American Developer of the Year Award from Hyatt in 2019.
Stephen worked as junior legal counsel at the Philadelphia Eagles before joining MSP and as an associate in the capital markets group of the New York office of Proskauer Rose LLP. Stephen holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics with a Certificate in Finance from Princeton University, where he graduated with honors in 2006. In 2010, Stephen obtained his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
